Story Time @ Ang Mo Kio-Bishan Park

Hello Parents!

The book adapted and reenacted at the park today was titled 'The Smartest Giant in Town' by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler.

In my story, I was George the giant and the park became the city that I lived in! After buying a new set of apparel, I walked back home and met several troubled animals. I showed empathy, kindness, and creativity as I cleverly helped the animals out of their situations. In the end, the animals gave me a crown and named me 'The Kindest Giant in Town'.

Using the props kit given at the start of the walk, the children participated in each 'situation' by doing a simple task (eg: walking on the belt wearing a dog mask). Through the story as well as the personification of the animals, I hope the children will be motivated to show empathy and kindness towards the animals and even plants in their natural environment. May the story also spark creativity as they think out of the box to help take care of them!
