Hello Parents of the Champions!

I am so glad to to meet your champs for the Weather 4cast program today! :) Given the unpredictable weather due to drastic climate changes these days, it is so relevant to be educating them on the topic of Weather!

In today's lesson, the champs learned about:

1. Factors that affect the weather

2. Instruments (used by real scientists) to forecast weather

3. Nature Indicators to predict weather

Using recycled materials, the children built simple tools that mimics the real instruments used in weather forecast stations. I encourage you to try them out at home with your children! To see the various tests of the tools, you can click on the link below:

Other than using tools, good observation skills of our natural environment can also help us predict the weather. In the session, I also introduced them to various indicators to look out for when they are outdoor to make informed guesses about the weather.

One of the ways, is to look at the clouds! In their big bag of take home items, there is a Take Home Kit to build a cloud identifier. The children can use their creativity to design and build their own. When outdoors, do encourage them to use it to identify clouds and make a prediction of the weather! Ofcourse, we do not always get it right but it is still fun to try! :)
